I've set up a couple of wee websites (first attempts) and one in particular is doing its job just fine, but search engines do not seem to have noticed it, after about 9 months. I understand that this may be because I have used a Frames format. Is that likely, and how do get noticed? Surely plenty of websites uses Frames. I may avoid Frames in the future, but I still need to get this current website more visible. Any help? Or where can I read about it?

SE crawlers do not like frames unless you do a lot of work to them.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

You need to add <noframes> content.

Go to Modify>Frames>No Frames Content. Add a basic nav bar and your content, metatags etc. Do this with every page.
Engines will see all of your site instead of just the banner or whatever.

Is this same FRAME problem with crawlers also an issue with pages containing IFRAMES but that don't contain any regular FRAMES?

It's me again. Thanks for the help so far. I notice that when I do a google "the web" search certain pages of my website appear. Great. But I live in England and when I do a google "pages from UK" search the site does not seem to appear. The site does not have "uk" in the address. It is simply ".org". How might I get google to reconize this as a UK site?

to appear in UK only searches needs;

To be hosted on a UK IP and/or to have a UK tld plus a few other minor points can help

Research article from Ian McAnerin (HR Mod) Only in Canada, eh? about .ca but equally valid for others, and a HighRankings Thread discussing the article.
