I am trying to do something way above my head so once again where do I go for help.......The only place where I ever get real help.....Tek-Tips. Here is what I am trying to do:

I want a perl routine to check a directory that contains image files (JPG and GIF) and do a check (regex) against a MySQL DB and delete any image files that do not meet certain criteria against the DB. I.E. The routine is run and it checks the DB in Table A and Table B for item #1 and it looks in the image directory and if it finds any image file with item #1 in the name(I.E. 1_jpg or tn_1.jpg) it does not delete that file. If it finds an image file with no entry in the DB (I.E. 567.jpg or tn_567.jpg) it deletes the file. Can someone start me out and help me along the way as I try to build this myself? I want to try and make this myself but I want to bounce ideas off of somebody who knows how to do this. Any takers?
