Search and Sort Using Cold Fusion

i am building an application and it must have capability of the user to search and sort within the application. i also want the user to be able to edit the information shown within the app. can anyone point me in the right direction on how i can get this objective acomplished? thanks in advance

im not one to point anyone to a manual but what you're asking for is the very basic functionality of coldfusion and i think that's what would help you the most.
