Search a Fortune 1000 dbase..

I know that I am able to convert a Fortune Dbase to a text file and search it manual for the information that I need. But the problem is I am not to sure where to start to run a VB script that will allow me to do the converting of all the files that I need to do this. If any one has any information that will point me in the right direction, it would be great.
