SD Card Format Question 2

I have a IPO 8.1.69 and I am trying to change the holdmusic file using embedded file management. When I try it I get :"HTTP request failed: 405 Method Not allowed. I have the phone file server set to "memory card" and ip to 0.0.0.0.

I am trying to do this while using RDP to a win2008 server that is running manager to connect to the IPO.

If I have to re-format the SD card, can I just remove it from the system, re-format it using manager, and then put it back. All while the system keeps running. I heard somewhere that this is possible but would like to confirm.

Any other suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

easiest way is to shutdown the SD card via manager
take the card out and delete the file on it
upload the new file with the same name
put the SD card back and reboot the system

that is really all as the system will load the new wav file when it boots up.

Sometimes shutting down the card and enable it again is enough.
If that fails then put it in a card reader.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Update: tried shutting card down a couple of times. Still could not change music. Removed card and put in reader and could replace Moh. Did not have to reboot for new music to play. Just turned card back on. Many thanks.

8.1 introduced the feature where it would reload the .wav file without a reboot, 8.0 and earlier would need a reboot to do this :-)

Or just change the filename slightly and then back again. A new name makes it go looking again.

Think so. We have a site with 2 and we can change either.

But the system one has no reference to the name in programming, it's just the default holdmusic.wav file, or do you mean renaming the file on the card? I can see it working for additional sources but not the system one :-)

My mistake, just checked the config. They are using sources 2 and 3 for the specific ones and an external source for the main one. My bad!!
