Is there any difference between 68-pin SCSI cables for u160 devices and u320? I have some u320 drives and a u320 RAID card, but my SCSI cable is labeled u160. The new u320 cables look identical to my u160 cable.
Check the terminator usually built into the cable.
Essentially, the cable is(wire part) is the same, the major difference is in termination. Many u320 cables include the correct terminator on a T connector.
You can try this cable as long as you correctly terminate it for u320 devices. But for the cost of a cable why chance it, you might end up spending more in time trying to sort it out than the cost of the proper cable. And you state that you have a u320 cable already.
Put it in your spares bin as you will most likely find a need for it or know some one who will.
Another thing to watch on some controllers is the mix of devices while some controllers allow for this others are far more finnicky about keeping segments "pure", and connecting your legacy "older" SCSI device will cause the whole segment to slow down to 40Mbs Ultra Wide speeds.
