Hello all,

I've got a question about SCSI drives. It seems that there are two connectors to SCSI drives, a 68 pin and an 80 pin. The price difference between the two is neglagible, so what is the real difference? If someone could give a good explaination or a good link to a site that would help explain it to me then I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
Burke

Try a google search for "scsi explained".
3 connectors, the third is 50 pin.
The more pins, the more data bits transferred at a time. The less overhead talking to the drive. Ed Fair
Any advice I give is my best judgement based on my interpretation of the facts you supply. Help increase my knowledge by providing some feedback, good or bad, on any advice I have given.

The 80 pin SCA connector is usually used in a Hot Swap Chassis. The power and data sigals are included within the 80 pins (no separate 4 pin power plug).
