Installed my Adaptec SCSI AAA131U2 card along with the drivers on Windows 2000, attached a seagate ST39173LW SCSI
hard drive but hard isn't detected.

ie. Hard drive doesn't show in My Computer.

SCSI cable is 68 pin with 8 connectors

Requires fdisk and partitioning to make it visible enough to format. Ed Fair

For details click: (This article describes the Fdisk and Format tools and how to use them to partition or repartition a hard disk. This article describes the following topics: How to Use the Fdisk and Format Tools Important Considerations Before You Use the Fdisk and...) "ANTE GEIA"...

Is it the only drv on your scsi card? If not make sure you have the scsi jumpers set ie, id#0=1,id#1=2(Hdrv 68pin connector). I assuming you did a fdisk and format C: /s on the drv. I have a 2940uw scsi card and 3hdrv as such(drv#=0,#2=1#3=2) and 2ea cd roms on the card (50pin) connector ea w/ an ID# and all device (5in all)work fine.

Later...
