Scripting through Java JNI

Has anyone tried to write Java JNI wrappers to the Visual Basic and AppleScript scripting? This would allow cross platform scripting with common code (Java).

I am wondering if this is possible, or has this been done already? Also, if no one has tried this, who would I contact about getting the header code for the scripting engines?
