Is there any way a script can connect to a specific ip address/port (other than port 23)?

It depends on how you are connecting to the site. If you are using the dial command with a Connection Directory entry, you can specify the port number in the Connection Directory entry. If you are making a manual telnet connection, you can use:

connectmanual TELNET "telnetsite:port"

with telnet site replaced by the name of the machine you are connecting to and port replaced with the port number you want to access. I think ASPECT also supports a space between the system name and port number (instead of the colon), but I did not try that in my quick and dirty test script.

From my connection directory I have all my TELNET sites under the "telnet" tab and as previously stated the host/ip box contains <hostipaddress:portnumber> works great.
