Script Software Recommendations?

I'm looking to purchase (or download free of course), something that creates cool scripts to use on web sites. I'm looking for cool stuff like vertically scrolling text, image pointers, etc. Can anyone recommend some good ones?

dreamweaver mx is a nice package, deffenetly if you also want to use other scripts like php, asp etc.

but i would also advise using a regular noteblock and

or any other script page, that way you learn what your doing instead of just inserting readymade scripts I learned a bit yesterday, today i learned a lot, imagine what i'll learn tomorrow!
