Hello all!

I designed a CD booklet insert recently which was originally created as separate pages.

To get the file ready for the printers, I transferred each individual file onto a large layout sheet.

The printer just sent me a proof, which is absolutely fine, but now I need to print out the layout page from my inkjet printer. The problem is, the images are printing at a rough screen-resolution. (When I print each individual file, the resolution is fine, it only seems to be the layout that prints this way.) I have altered all the print settings and ticked every box that needs ticking but is there something vital I'm missing?

I'd appreciate any help that you experienced Quark users can give!!!

Cheers

Have you tried changing the output resolution for the newer file? Arethe support graphics EPS images or tifs? I have had troubles with EPS images on inkjet printers. Sometimes they can get pecular. Also to be sure the links in the new layout are linking in the right place. If the aren't that could also account for the pictures not printing correctly.

Sorry but the printer will be using a postscript printer, and you are using a inkjet printer with no postscript rip on it. This does not help. If you can't fix it in 20 call someone who can.

Thankyou so much for your help.

The reason I think something may be wrong is that each individual part of the file (ie individual pages in the book) print out absolutely fine but its only when I compile them together into the layout sheet that the printing starts to pixillate.

I've tried everything I can think of but I'm quite new to the mysterious workings of Quark and there's probably something blindingly obvious I'm missing!!!!

Thanks again.

Under print, the output tab you have frequency you should change this to either 150 or 175. If you can't fix it in 20 call someone who can.

Possibly an issue with the printer as Matt says - if it looks ok on the proof, your printer just can't cope.
