I have a user that can't run Access 2002 in a resolution setting higher than 800 x 600. The app freezes. Any ideas?

I would consider this to be a non Access issue...

something like:

Memory
Graphics card
Graphics driver

any help???

Thanks Trendsetter. This is a brand new PC, I will look at the card/driver. My only question is, why only in Access?

Software conflicts are a mystery...........whereas hardware conflicts are for the brave of heart!!!

Happy hunting.

I have done some research in to Access and screen resolution, and have noticed many people looking in to having Access open in a different resolution than the PC is set for. Why are they trying to change the resolution, to see more on the screen?

If the developer of the app has used a higher resolution than say.. 800 x 600, and used full screen forms etc.. then anybody trying to view in 800 x 600 would not see the full form but would need to scroll to see the bottom & the right hand side.

The developer should specify an optimum resolution for the application!!!

If you have the Access Developers Handbook CD, there is code there which reads a PCs resolution and adjusts the screen accordingly. If you don't have the book, you can go to their web site ( and download the code.
