Screen Output Upside Down 1

Believe it or not, but somebody leant some books on the keyboard, and now all Windows output to the screen is upside down. I cannot figure out what they’ve done. Anyone got a clue?

On bootup, all the screen output is fine, right up to the point where it comes into Windows, then everything is inverted.

Even odderly (?) enough, this is a common problem.
Many modern video boards support a rotation of the screen, as some modern screens can be placed in several orientations.

The keyboard sequence to rotate the screen varies by manufacturer. Use the mouse to right click a blank area of the desktop, Properties, Advanced and you should see a rotation setting under the display adapters properties sheet.

For many adapters, the rotation keystrokes are Ctrl-Alt-and then the the up,left,down and right arrow keys.

If you cannot manage to follow bill's great advice due to the screen being upside down. Boot into safe mode, this will load the basic microsoft display driver.

I have never seen this myself, but have walked several through the issue by phone.

. if your keyboard has on the right-hand side next to the space bar a GrSc key, hold it down and tap the arrow keys on the keypad; the display will rotate (depending on arrow key) until you get what you would like;

. I am not going to suggest you stand on your head, but it dawned on me that what Greg above was suggesting was that the properties display and mouse would be upside down as well, and using Safe Mode should prevent the problem until you sorted the issue.

A better idea than a bodily contortion.

I shouldn't laugh but I once visited a customer who had been using his computer for about 6 months with the monitor upside-down due to this.

I had a client with a new wireless mouse who showed me the fact that it was much easier now to examine long Excel spreadsheets by dragging the mouse under the tabletop, down a leg and across the floor.
