Screen corruption in Word 2002

Has anyone experienced screen corruption in Word 2002?
I have four different systems all built on different installations (different media) of Windows XP running Office XP. I am getting repeated screen corruption when using the Header/Footer toolbar in particular and also when inserting tables into documents. The area of the scrren taken up by the toolbar does not clear itself when the toolbar is closed.

Any ideas or thoughts greatly appreciated as this is getting quite serious for my students. Jamie Gillespie

Are you using an ATI rage card?

I believe there is a problem with some these cards. You might want to check ATI site. Other than that, two suggestions:

Turn down the video acceleration a notch or two and see if problem persists.

Update your video drivers or go one lower if that's what will cure the problem.
