This was the big turnaround for me. Once you build a basic page layout with flexible tables, you can add layers, which float over the top and snap to a specified position relative to an object in the table. This is the ‘snap layer’ behavior available from
the text in the upper right corner is an image in a table cell. The table width is set to 95%, so no matter what the screen size that text is up in the top right corner. The three-button menu, however, is in a layer which snaps to a position below and to the left of the upper right text when the page loads or is re-sized.
