I installed my first scn with two sites. I was on the phone with catalyst tech support for problem we resolved, but tech sad that whenever we do a reboot to IPO we need to also reboot the other IPO(both running 3.1). tech support said this could cause problems dialing between sites if not done. Any truth to this?

thanks

I say it is safer to rebbot your IPO with every change you do, but it is certainly not necessary. Imagine having a 16 sites SCN - would you reboot all of them everytime you change one IPO?

In my comapany, after installing over 70 systems in the last year, we reboot only when there is no other option. Even from some trunk, system and extension changes we do Merge Config, and it works. Reboot is only needed when the IPO behaves badly.

He's full of crap. The AVRIP protocol is very robust and isn't easily sway by a temporary loss of connection. In other words, don't worry about it. The systems have a way of "working things out" very well in relation to SCN.
