Hello to all.

I am working on an SCN issues that has come up.

Two IPO 500v2 systems installed at same time (One system is called SC, the other is called PKB) about two years ago running 6.1 software.

They have a VM Pro attached to the SC system.

Systems are connected via a VPN over a Cable modem network and offices are about 100 miles apart.

The systems have been running with no problem for two years.

This week the PKB system now says the SCN is down, but no programming or hardware changes have been made to either system. The SC system says the SCN is up and can call the PKB system extension to extension just fine. However the PKB system gets "Unobtainable" when trying to call SC. Of course, their VM does not work either.

Everything, including the routers, modems, phone systems, etc. have been rebooted several times.

I can ping each system from the other. All the programming appears to be as it should be, so I am stumped as to why the system only works one way.

Is it possible the ATM Combo card in the PKB system may have failed in one direction?

All suggestions are appreciated.

Start Monitor and look for the AVRIP packages coming in on either system, if you don't receive them you know something is fishy as long as you see them sent on the other side (disable all checkmarks but the SCN tab)

Other than driving a 100 miles and swapping out the network card on the remote system, I am at a loss on this.

I have deleted, and added the H.323 line, and rebooted both systems several times and SCN show that is up on one system, but not the other.

Anyone have ANY suggestions?

THANKS!

Do they both have voice networking licenses ?
What routers are on both sites?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Yes, BOTH systems have valid and working Voice Networking Licenses. They had the licenses since installation two years ago.

Using Zyxel routers on both ends. These have also been in place for the past two years.

That is what is weird about this problem.

The SCN simply stopped working on the PKB side and there have been NO changes in either the phones programming OR the Network in months.

are the zyxels doing the VPN i assume?

I would delete the VPNs and recreate them.
