You guys have been great so far. . Here's another one for you. I am attempting to set up my second SCN site and I am getting an error that says "Attempt to use a feature for which no licence is installed. - type: Advanced Community Networking.

I just want regular SCN.

Did I mis-click something?
This is connecting to a site that already has an SCN relationship with a third site. Am I hitting some kind of limitation?

Thanks in advance.

You need to untick voice networking on the H323 link to the other system and then create shortcodes for call routing :)

On my first pairing, voice networking was checked on both systems. Why would it be different now?

Ignore that I was getting myself confused :) Have you tried adding remote users to groups or something that you don't get with basic scn?

Not that I can see. No. I'm simply doing the initial pairing. They haven't exchanged directories yet.

I had an initial error in which I did not have unique dial plans. I since corrected that and now how this new error.

Also if all is working ok and it's just SSA giving this alarm don't worry about it, SSA is rubbish for licencing and feature alarms it's always giving false alarms :)

Also I see in VOIP trunks that Small community networking is "Not Enabled" and the directory has not been exchanged

Using SSA can each system ping the other? If so try a rebbot to kick start things :)

reboot even

each system does see each other or else they would not be complaining about non unique dial plans. I will attempt to reboot the far system. It was already rebooted initially when the VOip trunk was created though.

If you have no SCN Licences, the you need to create shortcodes to call from site A to B. Also like Amriddle mentioned untick "Voice Networking"
Make sure you have the right gateway Address set on the "IP Route"

on site A:

IP route:
0.0.0.0 / 0.0.0.0 / local GW
Code: 1XX
Feat: Dial
TelN: 1N
Line: Your SCN Line ID to Site A

on site B:

IP route:
0.0.0.0 / 0.0.0.0 / local GW

Code: 2XX
Feat: Dial
TelN: 2N
Line: Your SCN Line ID to Site A

ps: Don't let the extension numbers overlap each other so like above use 1xx and 2xx or 1xxx and 2xxx

What hardware and what software levels are we talking here?

These sites are all at 4.2(4).

Thanks for the response Bas but we're not there yet. Based on Avaya docs, the directories should exchange and sites should be able to call each other without short code manipulation. I already have a site up and running like this. No short codes needed changing.

Read the right doc, the one you have have a licence!

So buy as licence or use a shortcode without all the good features.

What hardware is it? If it is a 500 then you need at least the Voice networking channels. if it is 406 or 412 then you dont need licenses for basic SCN. do the systems each have VCM modules?

I did realize that when i first configured it, it was using version 4 of the manager. Now I now that R5 is supposed to be backward compatable. But could it have misconfigured the version 4 IP office's? I think I will just upgrade them.

You could upgrade to 5.0.15, then you do nto need advanced networking anymore because it is default !
