Hi all,

anyone has an idea of a way to automatically shutdown a win2k server at a given time thru task schedular or whatever? The "tool" should somewhat be able to close the running programs as well.

Thanks for any input.

Microsoft has a tool called shutdown.exe which you can use to schedule shutdowns with.

Have a look at this page for more information

Looking on that page it seems to you can set it to say yes to all queries and also force it down etc.

There is also a command called tsshutdn thats built in to windows 2000/xp computers but doesn't seem to have as many features as shutdown.exe

If you do tsshutdn /? on a command prompt you will get more information about the switches.

When going to the MS site it says you have to buy the resource kit to get the shutdown.exe tool. Is there a way to get this tool without having to buy the whole kit?
