Scavenging DNS - help

Hi, we have a AD 2003 domain and noticed stale records on DNS, there were 4 PC's with the same IP address! We have turned on the 3 areas for scavenging No-refresh interval, refresh interval and enable scavenging of stale records. These are all set to the default 7 days and we have about 600 DNS recods, do these default settings need to be changed?
