Hi,

Can Symantec Anti Virus Corporate Edition 7.5 be configured to automatically recognise the insertion of a floppy disk in the drive and scan it straight away before the user has a chance to open a file and potentially run/open a virus infected file.

All I know is that it checks the floppy drive when shutting down Windows.

I keenly await your reply.

Thanks.

Regards,

HI.

Yes and No
There is a similar option.
NAVCE scans the floppy disk on access, not on insertion, but this is almost the same idea - the floppy is scanned before the user can access it.
It is in: File System Real Time configuration - Advanced.

Unlike CDROM, the floppy drive does not notify the OS on insertion of new diskette, so the AV software cannot react to such event.

Bye

Hi,

That's very reassuring.

Thanks.
