scanmail on exchange 5.5?

hi ya'll-

running scanmail on exchange 5.5. just noticed that the realtime monitor is listing emails as they come in, but isn't cleaning the viruses. we know this because norton finds them once we try to open them in outlook. does scanmail not scan incoming pop3 messages through the pop3 connector?

Yes, Scanmail does scan pop3 accounts and does a great job of it. Make sure you have the correct properties set up in scanmail administrator. I have been using it to scan mail for my very large company and it has never failed to catch an e-mail. Make sure you have set up a place to quarantine uncleanable files in scanmail administrator

Scanmail has not let a single emailed virus through in the 2 years we have used it. Chris

It worked yesterday.
It doesn't work today.
