Scale picture in a report

I have a report that has a picture coming from a database. The size of the box is fixed. The problem is that the picture always comes in stretched to fit the box size. Is there a way to set the picture to keep its vertical and horizontal scale and using the maximum portion of the picture box as possible? Thanks for any help

If you right click the image in the report, and go to format graphic, there are several options. You can size the image in report and check the box to lock positoon and size, this works as long as every image is the same size in the DB.

Another thing you can try is on the second tab called Picture, there is a scaling option where you can force the image to width and height to a certain percentage of the original image size.

On the first tab, you can also try the Can Grow option.

Play aroudnw with these options and see if youcan get it to work for you.

MJV57 - Where you able to get this to work? I'm having the same issue with a report. If I select the "Can Grow" option then the proportions of the picture are correct but it doesn't always fill the space allowed for the image. Thanks.

Which version of CR are you using? In my experience, in XI you cannot get the image to maintain its aspect ratio (i.e., proportions) and stay confined to the graphic box. For me, when I select "Can grow" the proportions are correct but the image often expands outside the graphic box. One report that I wanted to create calls different images for each detail record. Some are square, some are horizontal rectangles and some are vertical rectangles. I cannot create this report with CR because, depending on the options selected, either the images are reformatted to fill the graphic box (and therefore some are distorted) or they have the correct proportions but may be enlarged and thus destroy the formatting for the rest of the report.

I'm using XI release 2. I might be able to get the images reformatted to a specific size by another tool before they are passed to Crystal. Sounds like this is my only option to get all the various images to look good.
