Small Business Server 2000 tells me that the company intermitantly is running out of licenses, which seems incorrect as I believe we have more licenses than users at the moment.

Can anyone tell me if there is a location within SBS2000 that you can review exactly how many CALs are installed? It should apparantly tell me within the SBS admin console but I can not find anything. If anyone can help I would be grateful

Cheers

To view the number of installed licenses:

Go to the SBS Admin Console. On default startup it is usually on the Server Status page. On the far right hand side there are several clickable links. Click the About link and the number of licenses will be the first item shown.

As far as receiving out of license messages - Is this an application that is popping up a message or are they events in the Event Log? Basically, Event Log messages are generated by the Licensing Manager Service, which is notorious for doing nothing but generating erroneous licensing messages. This is nothing to worry about, as long as you do have a sufficient number of licenses. Most admins disable the Licensing Manager Service - this will cause no harm and will prevent the licensing messages from appearing in the Event Log.

Quick and simple yet just what I needed, thanks for that, appreciated. I'll even give you a star :)

Cheers
