SBS not responding with Grey Screen and mouse cursor

Hi Guys, I have searched this forum and found a few entries in regards to this with no replies. After coming to work this morning I found my server was off line. I found the server had a grey screen with an active mouse cursor and no desktop. Upon rebooting the server the same appears each time. 10 reboots at least. During the bootup the Windows 2003 splash screens shows and then the white bar at the bottom slides across then straight to the grey screen with mouse cursor. This is as it can't find the logon screen to display and just sits there. Any idea how to repair this I am stumped on this. Safe mode does exactly the same thing.

Anyone have a suggestion at all. When I boot in safe Mode I get a Black Screen with Same Mode in each corner and an active mouse. The screen freezes at this point but the mouse cursor still moves with the mouse. Task manager does nothing. I am hoping that I don't have to reinstall everything. Help.

Hi,

At friday I also have same problem.

I try log on to the server I press CTRL+ALT+DEL and the press window bilnk one and comes back again. After when I try press repeatly logon keys the messages comes out:

The "lsass.exe" unexpectedly shutdown. The computer shut down 1:00 minutes.

After when I restart the server I have a same problem like your.

I try search how can I resolv this problem.

I am having the exact same problem I have tried repairing etc with no luck,

After a good hunt around I found this link :-

Basically replace the lsass.exe I just copied one from a windows xp pro machine.

Worked perfectally for hope the same for you.
