SBS 2003, shared contacts and CellPhones 1

hi,

What I would like to manage is to create a contacts folder that is available for all users on the network. So that they can add and remove contacts as they like with a check on duplicate contacts. There also must be some kind of option to sync or not to sync those contacts with a cellphone.

Are there some programs on the market that can fullfill these questions?

You can create a shared contact Public Folder, but the option to synch that with a wireless device is going to depend on the wireless device. Many don't support syncing Public Folders.

The devices I'm talking about have windows mobile 5.0 installed. So are they able to sync public folders? And how becouse i don't find the option anywhere.

And is there a way to mark contacs for synchronization or not?

I have always used a 3rd party tool (pocket lookout) but you can also take a look at Intellisync from

http://www.pumatech.com.

However I wonder if this would work for you:

To make public folders sync, in Outlook drag the folder to the Favorites folder under public folders.

Then go to Tools menu (in Outlook) and go to email accounts. Hit next, and select change for the exchange server, then hit more settings.

On the Advanced tab, be sure to click Download public folder favorites.
