Hi,
I habe a soundblaster LIVE card, and after the system has been idle for around 10-15 minutes, then sound switches off. I can use the PC as much as I like, but the sound will not come back on until I turn the volume control up and then back down ( I have a surround speaker system with a separate volume knob), then it's OK. Until the next time the system is idle.
I've been through the settings etc, but can't find any reference to a standby setting or likewise.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Is the power management turned off in the bios. Sounds like when the system sleeps then wakes back up the sound card is not waking up until something activates it. Just a thought.

My suggestions are what I would try myself. If incorrect, I welcome corrections to my knowledge.
