We are using Legato NW 6.1.4

I am trying to save to a specific pool but somehow when I start the backup it starts backing up to the 'default' pool rather than 'full'. When I type nsrjb and tape is labelled for the that pool I want to backup to. I go in the Media | Pools | Full (my pool), the Pool type is defined as something else (I think these are default options) and I don't have the option of choosing the Pool "full". I guess maybe I need to create a new pool, but I dont think that is the answer. Because other pools also are not shown in this section.

Do I need to change the mount class from 'default' to 'full'?

I am kinda lost here if you guys can direct me to the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks again.

the pool type must be "backup", not something else... modify it and it will be showed.

ok.. let me understand..

you have a pool called "full", right?
so you labeled a tape for the pool "full", right?

do you specified in this pool the backup level ?

hmmm BTW, I ignored the first post, not this one...

Yeah I have a Poll called "full" and I labeled a tape for this pool. I specified the group...
What you mean by backup level in this pool?

in the pool resource, the last attribute is "level" where you specify what bakcup level will be written in this pool. by default none are marked, but if you are using the factory made "Full", then the full is marked, so only full backups will be written to this pool, all incrementals and 1-9 levels will be written to other pool or default if no pool meet the criteria.

I guess this is a Windows server.

You better watch out!!!!!!
- You may label a media for this pool but
- the pool itself is disabled by default

This is different with respect to the UNIX gui where only media can be labeled for enabled pools.

This is actually a Unix (Solaris 8) server & the client I am trying to backup is also running Solaris 8.

Unselected any device from this pool.

This pool was disabled. I guess that's where I didnt look. Now its all set. Many thanks for all the prompt replies.
