Does anyone know how to get mails sent using xp_sendmail to save in the Sent Items folder?

I know there's an option in the SQL Agent properties for this but this only affects Agent mail (job notifications, DTS sendmail tasks etc).

All mail used to be saved when we were using SQL 7 but since upgrading to SQL 2000 xp_sendmail is not saved. Is this a "feature"?

Unfortunately, no. I searched for ages, posted questions like this etc but could not find an answer!

In the end I have taken to amending the xp_sendmail calls where I need to save a copy of the sent item and adding a BCC to the SQL Server mailbox (ie, it sends a copy to itself). Bit of a hack but it does the job.

Let me know if you do manage to find anything.
