I have a number of Excel spreadsheets containing 6 pages of graphs. I have to print these double sided. At the moment, I have to go into each of the 6 sheets in each spreadsheet and select File/Print/Properties/Flip on Long Side.

This usually works OK (although sometimes if I'm printing a few copies Excel will forget half way through the print run and revert to single-sided)

However I have to go through this process each time I print the data. Is there any way to make Excel store the desired print properties within the file?

I should mention that the printer I use for the double sided prints is not my default printer.

Hi,

This is EXACTLY what the macro recorder was designed for.

Tools/Macro/REcord New Macro -- and record changing the printer.

Then go ahead and record printing all your charts.

Your printing job can simply be a button hit.

Thanks for responding Skip. However, altohugh I can use a macro to change the printer, it won't record the keystrokes for the 'print\properties\flip on long edge\OK\Close', which is what takes the time as it has to be done for each workshhet in each file. Any further ideas?

With my limited knowledge on the topic, I don't believe you can do this through excel. You would need a printer interface such as IBM infoprint(which is what we use) that spools jobs to various printers and you can store the printer settings on your desktop.

Me transmitte sursum, Caledoni!
