I am editing an old crystal report file that was orignally made with Version 5 or 6. I am using version 8.5. One of our applications uses this report. If a save it with 8.5, it is no longer recognizable by the application. Is there a way to save the file with the old format?

Dear SuperBaker,

To save the report as that old of a version, you must use the same version. Do you not have access to the version it was written in?

If the report was made in version 7.0 there is a Save as 7.0 option in 8/8.5.

I think it was written in version 5 or 6 which I dont have a copy of. Any way around this?

Dear Superbaker,

If the app is in use and Crystal was provided with it... my suggestion is to find the CD from which the app is installed. Most apps include a copy of Crystal either on the CD itself or separately. Barring that you can contact the vendor that supplied the app...

Also, if you all registered with Crystal, you might seek their assistance.

DGillz... that was succinct <smile>.
