Hi all, have a new Cisco 506e and its preloaded with the latest:
Cisco PIX Firewall Version 6.3(5)
Cisco PIX Device Manager Version 3.0(4)
The activation key is already installed for these features:

Licensed Features:
Failover: Disabled
VPN-DES: Enabled
VPN-3DES-AES: Enabled
Maximum Physical Interfaces: 2
Maximum Interfaces: 4
Cut-through Proxy: Enabled
Guards: Enabled
URL-filtering: Enabled
Inside Hosts: Unlimited
Throughput: Unlimited
IKE peers: Unlimited

This PIX has a Restricted (R) license.

My question is, is there a way to save the registration key for later use (if I whipe Flash and start fresh), and is it possible to copy the existing Image and PDM from flash to a TFTP server.

Thanks in advance,

Guts

I dont beleive you can copy your PDM and Image from flash to a server. Both are highly available online. The Activation Key is reusable only on that Pix.

You should be able to see it with a "sh ver"

Ok....yes..thats what I thought, I have downloaded a fresh copy of the Image and PDM just in case I ever need to reinstall them, and have copied the sh ver and sh act to a text file.

Thanks,

Guts

The biggest thing to have backed up is your config. I would load a free tftp server on your desktop/server and make a habbit of creating backups everytime you change your config. Helps for the CYA situations if needed.
