I have crystal reports 8.5, 9.0 installed on my pc.

I am able to open a 8.5 report and --File, Save As and then click on enterprise to save the report in Crystal Enterprise 8.5.

The same goes for version 9.0 without a problem.

After I installed version XI I am having problems.

I open a 9.0 report in Crystal Reports 9.0 and do File - Save As into enterprise 9 I get an error message "Access Denied Cannot log on to an older version of the CMS"

I do not understand why I am getting this error message when another coworker has the 8.5,9, and XI installed and he can save into enterprise without a problem.

THanks

Hey Bob,

You should be able to do what you are attempting - make sure that you are trying to talk to CE9 instead of CE8.5 . . . ?

Cheers

I am trying to save a 9.0 report into 9.0 enterprise When I click on the enterprise folder when doing a save as I select the APS for 9.0 and this is the when I get the error. Form some reason I think it thinks that the report is an XI even though it is not.

My coworker can do it with the same report and my PC will not.

Hi,
Sometimes having both on the same machine can cause DLL conflicts..were you sure to specify a new directory for the XI install?

Can you do 8.5 with no problems?

Yes 8.5 works fine.

I installed in a different directory. Again my coworker's install is fine he has 8.5, 9, and XI and he can save into enterprise without a problem.

What we just did was uninstall XI and 9.0 and reinstalled 9.0 for now.

We will just wait when all of our reports are converted to XI from the other developer to reinstall XI onto our machines. At that point we will remove 8.5 and 9 completely from the PCs.
