Hi all

There is probably an easy solution to this question, but I'm not sure how its done. I am trying to create a word document (2000), then save it. When the document is opened, I have seen others that the text is shaded and no-one can alter or change or in fact go into any part of the document other than areas allowed. How is this done? I know about password protecting so it becomes read only, so that's not what I'm after. Hope this makes sense

Any suggestions please or can someone point me in the right direction where to look?

Many thanks in anticipation of a reply
Kindest regards

Hi,

The document was created using Form fields. The Form toolbar can be avtivated by right clicking the toolbar area and selecting Forms.

Place your Form Fields in the approprate places in your document. Make sure that you have set all the default values and dropdown list values etc. that you'll need.

When the design is complete, lock the form with the Protect Form button and save it. When the user opens the document, they will only be able to change the Form Fields. Tabbing gets you form one Form Field to the next.

Hope this helps ;-)
