How can I save a word doc out as an html file w/out all the style elements Word automatically embeds? I found a post from a guy w/the same problem, but the very next thread was from him saying he found the plugin... so no help there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

THanks,
Greg

I do not believe you can. When Word saves as HTML, it is completely designed to build its HTML as CSS and with the apparent purpose to have as much extra code as possible.

So if you are asking about a way to have Word save a document as WW3 compliant straight HTML - it doesn't.

If you want to spend the time, and the effort, you could build your own saveas procedure....hmmmm.

Actually I found a solution. Found a tool called Word Cleaner that removes all tags. Works great! Anyways, thanks for your input.

Looks possible - although:

1. This is web based, and therefore you must give access to your file over http protocols. This is NOT secure.

2. I just tried it, and you have to subscribe, if the file is greater than 20Kb. My test file certainly was, so I will try again with a smaller test file.

3. seems a little pricey.

This issue has got me thinking. It would be a good utility for the Word Addin I am working on at VBA Express. Hmmmm.
