Without 3rd party plug-ins, I don't think it can be done directly (although I do hope someone proves me wrong about this!). However, you could bring it into some intermediate format that can be imported into Word.
If you only want to save formatted text, simply select the text box, and use File > Save Text..., checking the 'Include Tags' option (I'm relying on memory here, so it may be phrased slightly differently). This is basically a normal text file with tags, similar to HTML. A simple Find & Replace can convert it to a HTML file that can be imported into Word. There are a number of HTML export XTensions out there for Quark, so check their website and you might find one that can automate much of this process, maybe exporting images too!
If you're feeling really adventurous, try avenue.Quark and delve into the world of XML. It's not the easiest thing to do though.... Whatever method you use, I don't think you'll ever retain an exact copy of the original document, but there's no reason to loose all formatting. A nice article on XPress tags can be found at
