Save As Blob

I am currently saving a Word Document, from a file server, into an oracle Blob using Java. I then retrieve the Word Document from the Blob and allow the user to open it. I would like to figure out how to save back to the Blob from Microsoft Word. I am assuming that I could do this using a macro, but I am not sure how. Has anyone ever done this?
