Hi!

I have a hosting server with 1 SATA HD.

Im going to buy a second HD (same size).

I want to do a SOFTWARE RAID with the 2 harddrives.

Now, My server runs RedHat linux 9. What can I do?

Should I buy a controler to do the raid with the hardware? Or is it easier to do it with the kernel? Any link? Have you done that before?

Thank you

Hardware RAID is always more efficient than software or kernel RAID. This is because the system offloads the RAID functionality to the adapter, so the kernel or OS does not need to manage it.
