i have installed 2 x sata 300GB drives one as a mirror
i wish to partion up the first part of the the drive with the same size as c:/ then copy O/S onto it then boot from that drive what is the best way to go about it ????

many thanks for contributions!!!

Stand up wherever you are, go to the nearest window and yell as loud as you can, 'I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore.'

You are going to get yourself into many headaches with an attempted copy and paste of an OS. Frankly, I don't know if it is possible.

1. Is this a domain controller?
2. Why is there the need to move the OS. I am guessing that you installed new HD's for more storage, but why not just move the data (that people access daily) to the newly partitioned 300GB mirror and run a system state backup on the C: drive and output to the new mirror. Leave the OS on the drive it is on.

If getting rid of the drive that the OS is on is a real priority, then the best course of action is to copy the data off the server, and do a fresh install on the new mirror.
