.. and i thought this would be an easy fix.
I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 and have to say was initially pleasantly surprised. Very little problems. All went well. I backed up my data on a 500 gig WD SATA drive and it was recognized.
Yesterday i went to boot up the computer and it was gone. I rebooted windows and it showed on boot-up and in BIOS. I went to computer manager and it was not there, nor was it in the device manager. Windows 7 has done the odd update but i can't believe that this would be the cause of the problem. I had installed some new RAM that didn't work, went back to the old RAM and the drive was still there.. it's just yesterday that it disappeared.
I have some files i would really like to retrieve on that drive, so a format would be a 'very' last resort. Even so it can't be formatted in Windows 7 as the OS doesn't even know its there..
The board is an ASUS M2N Sli Deluxe
Processor is a Quad Core Phenom 9650
Any help would be very appreciated.
