Hi All

i was wondering if anyone can help....will a sata II drive run on a sata I interface?

Let me expand a wee bit. It will work with a SATA1 150 connector, but will only operate at SATA1 speeds.

For almost any application, you'll not see any noticeable performance difference, anyway.

Thanks all just ordered one was getting a better price on the sata II drive i was a little worried it wouldn't work but it looks like it will just be a jumper setting on the drive worst case scenario for it to work on sata 1.....thanks again
 
And on some of them you may have to set a jumper on the drive to tell it that it is using SATA150 instead of 300 so that it behaves correctly.
