Sample Genealogy Databases?

My boss landed a job that will involve user created family tree info...I know nothing about family trees or even where to begin with a database.

I've researched but have not yet found database schemas or examples.

I am hoping to find a sample database and sample queries for common actions. I don't even know where start with the database, but do know that I've got to get the DB right bfore I can even think of the appliation we're building (web based, cfml, mysql)

Any info is awsome!

I heard after I posted that this site may only be a pedigree, so only parents would be involved, no siblings at any generation. This might make things quite a bit easier.
