Any idea why a report fails in CE10 but works in CR10 ?

It get's weirder.....

1) When I strip out most of the stuff in the report the report then works in CE10 and I can view it but it I try and schedule that report in CE10 to an export format, say, text, it fails again with the same message.

By the way, the error message in CE10 is 'Table could not be found".

The only link I can see with this happening is (it happens in 1 or 2 other reports) the fact that it contains subreports.

I deleted out as much I could so that I was left with one subreport, no formulae, no parameters etc and it still fails when exporting. FYI the subreport has two datasources within, however with another report, the same thing happens but that only has one datasource. Datasource is via ODBC.

Any help most welcome.

Andrew

Hi,
Scheduled reports in CE use the Job Server, not the page server that is used for viewing 'on demand', so be sure the account the Job Server is running under has full access to the ODBC drivers and to the database.

What database, by the way..

Hi, the database is DB2. Our jobservers are located remotely at IBM. We have a suite of 200 or so reports that still work. These reports that are failing are not really much more complex than any other existing report. Really frustrating and baffling !

I believe that the best way to find the solution will be to understand why a report that works when scheduled as .rpt in CE10, fails when it is scheduled as, say, .txt or .pdf. Can you explain this behaviour ?

Hi,
Possibly..The CE Server installation may not have had those options installed..Check to be sure..
Also, be sure the destination locations for those types is accessible to the CE service..

No, those options are installed and work with other reports fine, the destination is Managed not unManaged. Nope, I am sure this is an issue with the template itself that makes CE10 go all screwy !!

We have BO 'elite' support and even they are baffled !! Been 2 weeks now and counting since I raised this with them and they are being very quiet :-( ........
