I'm setting up a samba server just for testing purpose for an upcomming project ....The problem is that when I browse the samba file using windows xp I see all the share files in the samba file but when I try to open the file says access denied..I beleive I'm using the correct user name and password as well as all the setting on the file in the Red Hat box and samba server setting

Have you created a samba user account? This is not neccessarily the same as your RH user account (although they could be synced). This is the first place to look and the most common cause of this problem. Start with man smbpasswd. Specifically, the -a option.
