I've got FreeBSD 5.2.1 with NIS and Samba 3 playing together as a domain and PDC. I've got XP Pro clients, and things are half-way working.

My current working set up is this -- I've got trust accounts for each client computer added to the synchronized password database, I've got users added for logins.

I configure a client workstation in XP Pro to join the domain. That goes just swell. I reboot, and login to the domain as root. Just peachy. No problem, no errors. I change my wallpaper and add a small text file. I logout, it saves fine. I login from a different station as root, and my files and settings roam with me.

However, and this is where things get ugly, when I attempt to log in as a non-root user, I'm greated with a "Roaming profile could be found on server blah blah blah -- DETAIL - Access is denied". After that error, it gives me another error telling me it can't find a local profile, and as such, none of the changes I make will be saved.

I've googled, probed IRC channels, searched forums and read through books and documentation, and can't seem to find an answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Let me know which logs or configuration files I need to post, and I'll post them ASAP.

Seems to be unix permissions problem on the profiles or logon dir.

Hope This Helps, PH.
