Hi Guys,

Bit of an issue with SAMBA on RedHAT 7 (Linux 2.4.7-10)
It will connect to an AS/400 IFS Share ok but every Sunday when the AS/400 restarts subsystems because of the backup job and IPL, the SAMBA connection becomes unavailable.
I can remount as another name but I cannot use the exitsing mount, nor can I 'umount -f /as400server'.
We would end up with a number of un-usable mounts until we restarted RedHAT (an unlikely event).
Any ideas would be marvelous.

Have you tried to create cron jobs on the linux machine ?
Every saturday night, umount the as400 share
Every sunday night, mount the as400 share

Hope This Help

yep, definately thought about that as a workaround, just wondered if there was a solution otherwise.

Cheers :)
