samba authentication for MAC OS client

Is it possible???
Can a MAC OS client authenticate to samba, i currently have several windows machines authenticating to this single samba linux box, but when it comes to macs im a bit lost.
Any help/links would be appriciated, cheers.

OSX can.

This is the format I use.

smb://ipaddress

or to avoid login

smb://login:password@ipaddress
