We recently got SA8052 ISDN Redirecting Number special Application. At the same time the S8700 was upgraded to release 3. Can anyone give me some information regarding page 15 of the system-parameters features screen? I have looked in all of the new documentationfor release 3 and it does not cover this. Specifically, What are the Remote Voice Mail extensions used for and why would you populate these enties?
We currently have a configuration where we are migrating to an Avaya S8700 with G650's from a Centrex. In the interim, both systems are working side by side. The Voicemail system is currently on the Centrex. In order to integrate properly into voicemail from the PBX, we needed special application 8052. This allows for the ISDN Redirecting Number information element to be sent out on the ISDN Prime trunk via Q.931. Everything works fine if PBX user covers to Centrex voicemail (via coverage path built with remote coverage number). The problems come into play if a PBX user transfers or conferences a caller to a number that is on the Centrex. If the Centrex user does not answer the phone, then the Centrex number call forward no answers to voicemail. But, you integrate into the mailbox of the PBX Calling party asking for a password (this is bad) instead of the called party.
I looked at the Q.931 setup messages during conferences and transfers and the PBX sends out an ISDN Redirecting number information element that is balnk (empty). I have taken this back to Avaya with a response of "Product is working as designed for special application 8052".
I have looked on Avaya's web site and there is virtually no information regarding special application 8052 and what the Remote Voicemail Extemsions are used for on page 15 of feature-related system parameters.
Can anyone help?
