S8300 instalation question..!!!!

I am doing s8300 software instalation,whenever iam trying to ping from the service prot of s8300 cant acessable.So that i couldnt able to do the software instalation.Can any one advice me the solution?Also i have notified that the service ethernet port not active,only orange led has been blinking there.
 
its giving me ping after 45 min,but the same time i cannot
telnet to the server.Please give me good adcvice...
 
#1 are you using an ethernet "cross" cable (crosses pins 1+2 with 3+6, and vica versa)

#2 you connect the USB CD-ROM, put in the CD, and THEN apply power to the gateway/S8300? you have to have the CD in the USB drive as soon as power is applied.

#3 your service port on the PC is set to 192.11.13.5/30?

you should be able to "ping" 192.11.13.6 within about 2-3 minutes. If not, you have a defective CM CD, or a defective S8300, or defective USB CD-ROM drive.

Lot thanks for your info...thats guide me the solve this issue,Issue was the USB cd drive with low battery.
